"Dead ass" is merely descriptive, not slagging. And since you don't actually know the guy, how can you truly slag him? I like your slant; it mitigates the guilt.

Oops. I read this after I commented on one of your posts. Does "dead ass" count as slagging? (It doesn't in my world, but my world is pretty strident sometimes.) I was feeling a little protective of you. Sigh. The road to hell being paved with good intentions, and all that...

Fuck that. Tell your friend to get off his dead ass and figure out a different name for his own creative endeavor. You don't have to function within a ticking-clock deadline, self imposed or otherwise. It's not a baby. It's not being neglected. It's more like a piece of furniture or sports equipment you're not using. It's not disintegrating; it's just waiting for you to show up. (Your inability to show up is a whole different conversation.) xoxo

«Why must we produce in order to prove our worth?»

Don't we have to contribute something to the world into which we're born? Don't we have a debt to pay forward? Truly, it's not ultimately a matter of proving my worth for me, though I put it like that sometimes. It's more a sense of fulfillment in bringing something into existence.Yours is an interesting idea (I mean that sincerely), but I don't see how it would be possible unless the ideator is passing on his or her ideas for somebody else to manifest.

The nature of the soul is to be active, right? Somebody who merely dreams is considered to be in the mode of ig, no? The mode of passion is active.

Maybe the mode of goodness is what you're thinking of, but I think it's active in that the ones with the dreams and ideas guide and inspire those who are more active to manifest them. Isn't that what Prabhupada did?

I like your insights on serving Krishnha, and I really liked the phrase that was born from the episode “It’s just another slug on the sari of life” :)

I can't think of similar instances right now but recently I was thinking about the mood of service that you brought up- of doing one's service as though you were indispensable. I understand that it can give one a sense of strong commitment to that service to Krishna, which is good. At the same time I think it can also feed one's pride in a subtle way, you know what I mean?It seems like there's a thin line between the two.

Why not just be content with the ideas? Ideas are nice. I like ideas. Why should we attach hopes and dreams to our ideas? Why must we always achieve? Why must we produce in order to prove our worth?

Just wondering...
